Tour de Trykes, Enid, OK
September 4, 2010
200+ riders, very flat terrain with better than average road surfaces. My only complaint was on the 100 mile route they substituted convenience stores for rest stops meaning if you needed water or food you had to pay for it.
Other than that the ride was well worth it with excellent farmland scenery.
Nice ride. Worth the drive from Dallas. Routes very well marked and rest stops stocked well with all the necessities. Weather was great temperature wise, mid to low 80's. Nice scenery though out the ride. Wind picked up pretty strong towards the end of the day to around 20 mph. Everyone very friendly. Everything was well organized except we preregistered and it took longer than it should especially since we did not get our packet with shirt till after the ride. Only received our number before the ride. They actually only had smaller sizes of shirts even though we preregistered at the end. That is the only thing I would recommend to them next year is when someone preregisters, put it all together before the ride so we can make sure and get them. I am guessing that the riders that registered the day of received our shirts. They made it right at the end though and received some from the prior year. Nice food and drinks at the end for all riders. Chicken, "Beverages", lettuce, chips, etc... About 300 to 350 riders turned out. I think it was bigger than last year. We rode the 100 mile route and plan on doing it again next year. Most flat with some rolling hills. I climbed 1600 feet in 100 miles. Thanks and good job guys.
