Names or E-mails will not be posted unless requested. You don't have to write a paragraph. One line comments are great. In fact I am getting tired of long tirades. When you send in a review, be sure to tell me which ride you are reviewing. I have no way to tell.

We are considering a symposium of Ride directors to exchange ideas. If you are interested please contact me at bicyclestuff@gmail.com
Winter is here and once again I enter my plea for suggestions for improvement, criticisms or even compliments. Now while I have a little more time, is the time to improve and/or change. Any ideas? bicyclestuff@gmail.com |
Bridgewood Farms Burn Your Bun, Wills, TX
July, 4 2009
It was hot in Willis and it was HUMID, too. Nice ride that benefitted a great organization. Bridgewood Farms serves teens and adults with mental retardation or physical handicaps that prevents them from living comfortably in society on their own. The ride is an annual event that is designed to help provide funding. Staff and clients of Bridgewood Farms served as volunteers during the ride as did the Rotary Club and members of a local cycling group.
The ride was a 32 mile loop that could be shortened for a 20 mile ride or doubled for a 100K+ trip. The ride left the start point at Bridgewood Farms and went through the city of Willis and on out towards Lake Conroe. We travelled through some really pretty, scenic areas and also through some less scenic country homesteads. Roads were all smooth and well patrolled with SAG support. Traffic was light and traffic control was provided at all necessary points by uniformed law enforcement. The officers were out controlling traffic and not just sitting in their patrol cars. Rest stops were adequately spaced and stocked. The tie dyed shirts were hand dyed by the Bridgewood Farms clients so no two shirts were exactly alike…this is my favorite shirt from all the rallies I have ridden this year! Hot dogs and watermelon served after the ride.
