- Dallas Area Senior Games, Texas Motor Speedway

April 21 & 22, 2007

I rode in the Dallas Senior Games on April 21st. It was supposed to be held on both the 21st and the 22nd but the second day was canceled. Although the event was held at the Texas Motor Speedway, it seemed as though nobody had coordinated it with the Speedway folks. First the Speedway people made us get out of their parking lot and then they locked the restrooms (which were later unlocked). After vacating the unused parking lot, everyone had to park their vehicles on the road which seemed unsafe and I believe that safety concern led to the cancellation of the second day.
The races were held pretty much on schedule and there were lots of people on the route holding up the traffic which wasn't very heavy. The wind was a killer.
I never got the medals they promised and they don't answer my emails on the subject.
The event was disappointing and I really doubt that I will participate again.
