When you send in a review, be sure to tell me which ride you are reviewing. I have no way to tell.

We are considering a symposium of Ride directors to exchange ideas. If you are interested please contact me at bicyclestuff@gmail.com

Winter is here and once again I enter my plea for suggestions for improvement, criticisms or even compliments. Now while I have a little more time, is the time to improve and/or change. Any ideas? bicyclestuff@gmail.com

DFW Soldier Ride -Dallas to Ft Worth TX

March 27, 2010

The 2010 Soldier Ride was a great ride. The ride supports the Wounded Warrior Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/). Being able to ride along with the Wounded Warriors was a privilege and an honor. These folks are some of the true heroes of our nation.
The route from Dallas to Fort Worth was laid out very well. It was a very scenic route. I enjoyed seeing the various neighborhoods and cities we peddled through. I cannot say enough about the efforts of the various police departments that helped coordinate the ride. The Dallas and Fort Worth Police Departments should be proud of how they helped out- they blocked every intersection to allow riders through.
The day was beautiful. If it had not been for the 30mph headwind the ride would have been perfect. The rest stops were friendly and well stocked. The signage and road markings were adequate (there was one rest area in Fort Worth that I missed the sign for and passed it up)
Being a one way ride and not a circuit made for a bit of extra planning. We had set up our own shuttle and SAG truck to get us back. But the public transit system was adequate.
I will be participating in this ride again.
