The planned routes of Waggin' Trail Bike Ride offer cyclists a unique tour of Central Texas. Hill County is 986 square miles of rural area that is joined together with miles and miles of splendid paved farm-to-market roads. With a combined population of only 33,000, Hill County offers open spaces. On many areas of the bike ride, one can see for miles around—the splendid beauty of open land—flowing creeks, pastures with cattle and horses grazing, farmers' cultivated fields, and proud, rural communities. The varied routes all explore the back roads of Hill County and go through communities that were established during the 1850's when Hill County was created and named after Dr. George W. Hill, a settler who served as a congressman and Secretary of War for the Republic of Texas. This year we are changing the 68 and 100 miler to avoid previous chip/seal road surfaces that have been at issue in the past. Please come join us for a great ride… Web Site - Reviews

The third annual Bosque Tour de Norway will be on May 17, 2014 - Clifton, TX. The start/finish line will be at the Clifton High School. We have 4 routes to choose from, 20, 40, 60 and 80 miles. Each will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the top of Texas hill country. You will also be riding through the historical Norse community. The Norwegian settlement began here in 1854, the same year the county was founded, and was led by Ole Canuteson and included Cleng Peerson, "The Father of Norwegian Immigration to America." Thousands of Norwegian immigrants, some coming directly from Norway and others from northern states, would eventually settle between Clifton and Cranfills Gap by century's end. The Norwegian influence in the area is still very evident today, including Our Saviors Lutheran Church, site of our first rest stop, and St. Olaf Kirke, or as it is better-known, The Old Rock Church. - Web Page - Online Registration -
