September 19-21, 2013 - The Texas Time Trials - Glen Rose, TX - The Texas Time Trials extends a warm, Texas-sized invitation to y'all. Ultra racers, randonneurs and riders wanting to test abilities against the clock, there's an event for you. TTTT is actually five events in one. The Tejas 500 RAAM Qualifier, Texas 24-Hour Time Trial, Texas 12-Hour Time Trial, and The 6-Hour Shoot-Out. With the different start times, riders and teams finish about the same time for dinner and the Awards Bash Saturday evening. The Cottonpatch Challenge will be on SAT  SEPT  21st in downtown Greenville (2500 Lee St) at the courthouse square.  Registration will be from 7:00 to 9:15 AM at Landon's Winery on the NE corner of the square.  The tour ride will start at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM.  Routes will be be 21-31-41-54-63 miles with reststops every 10-12 miles.  The course will be well-marked with sag patrols to help riders if necessary. - Web Page - Reviews - Photos_2009 - Photos_2010 - Photos_2011 -Photos_2012

September 21, 2013 – 2nd Annual Ride United Parker County begins at 8 AM; registration opens at 6:30 AM. The ride features 24 mile, 36 mile and 59 mile routes. The start/finish line is located at the Parker County Sheriff Posse Arena, 2251 Mineral Wells Hwy (US Hwy 180) in Weatherford, TX 76086. September 27-28, 2013 - CyclingSavvy workshop, Northway Christian Church, 7202 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas The CyclingSavvy workshop is a 3-part program carefully designed to help cyclists explore proven methods for safely and confidently navigating anywhere in urban environments. The workshop consists of a Friday evening classroom session, a Saturday morning parking lot skills training, and a Saturday afternoon experiential road tour. The entire workshop is $75 . I took this course and I heartily recommend this course to anyone who rides a bike. Even after 23 years of riding a bicycle I learned some things that can keep me alive while riding on the road. - John
