(Greater Austin to Shiner Pedal)- aka The Shiner Bash - The 2009 Great Austin to Shiner Pedal is a 100 mile bike ride starting in Austin, at 7:00 a.m., and finishing at the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX. This year we celebrate 100 years of Shiner Beer by riding 100 miles and raising money for the American Cancer Society. May 2, 2009 - Tour of the Wichitas - Lawton, OK - Ride in the Wichita Mountains…The ride is scheduled in conjuction with the Bike festival, Synergy in Motion, Saturday, May 2nd 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at the Museum of the Great Plains located at 6th and Ferris Lawton, OK. Race packets can be picked up at 7:00 am at the museum.
This will be a beautiful ride through Ft. Sill and the Wichita Mountains. You will be leaving the Museum of the Great Plains at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and riding either 2,10, 40, 50 or 60 miles through some of the most beautiful scenery in Oklahoma. We will also have a historic route by the Ft. Sill Museum and some of the most important historical properties at Ft. Sill. The longer rides will have a water stop at the Visitors Center in the refuge. You can pause here and learn about the make up of the refuge along with what types of animals it supports. Also the location of the hiking trails and fishing lakes. From the Visitors Center you may ride back by Mt. Scott through Medicine Park, or on a breathtaking downhill that will pass the Meers Restaurant and loop around Lake Lawtonka back to Lawton. This is a smell the roses ride. May 2, 2009 - Waggin Trail Bike Ride - Hillsboro Texas - The 2nd Annual Waggin Trail Bike Ride is planned with five routes to meet the needs of avid cyclists to the casual rider to include 70, 58, 40, 26, and 10 mile routes. Hillsboro Lions Club has once again volunteered to manage the registration for this event which will start at 6:30am. We are proud to announce Outlets at Hillsboro as the event sponsor where planned activities from 11-7pm will include Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and Tractor Supply’s 2nd annual Chihuahua Dog Races. May 9, 2009 - 15th annual Armadillo Hill Country Classic - It’s an amazing ride through the Texas Hill Country for varying experience and distance levels – from 14 to 105 miles, as well as a 6.5-mile Kids & Family Ride in Bertram. Due to the Swine Flu situation, the EMS-ISD will not allow us to use Boswell High School for our begin and end of our bike ride. Therefore, over the weekend, I had to find a new location. It is: Lighthouse Fellowship Church 7200 Robertson Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76135 It is located about 3 miles west of Boswell High School.

May 16, 2009 - The Byers Bicycle Bash, Byers, TX - The routes are 62, 45, and 25 miles. Fees are $15 for any student, $22 for adults until May 9 when all go to $25. May 30, 2009 - The 13th Annual Durant Rotary Magnolia Bike Tour will be held in Durant Oklahoma on Saturday May 30, 2009. Routes are 12, 22, 40 and 60 miles. Cost is $20 in advance, $25 on site.
