May 17, 2008 - The Byers Bicycle Bash, Byers, TX - The routes are 62, 45, and 25 miles. Fees are $15 for any student, $20 for adults until May 9 when all go to $25. May 17, 2008 - Cross Timbers Classic, Flower Mound, TX - Start shining your helmets, pump up your tires and save Saturday, May 17, for the 21st Annual Cross Timbers Classic. Sponsored by the Flower Mound Rotary, the 2008 bike ride event will take place at the Texas Motor Speedway. The Cross Timbers Classic ride includes 10-, 30-, 50- or 100-mile route options. Riders will start and finish at Texas Motor Speedway with an exclusive opening lap around the famed Speedway track. After the opening lap, riders will wind their way through the beautiful North Texas countryside along designated routes based on their chosen ride length.
New this year is an On Track Campout held on Friday night. Riders and spectators coming from afar are invited to enjoy food, family and fun for only $20 per camp site. The proceeds off the campout and the 21st Annual Cross Timbers Classic help support the charities and civic service projects of the Flower Mound Rotary and Rotary International. Included in those projects is Polio Plus, an international inoculation program that the World Health Organization predicts will wipe out polio in the Western Hemisphere. Proceeds also support local anti-drug campaigns, the Adopt-A-School program, college scholarships and numerous other charities.

May 17, 20087 - Hamilton Hill-Aceous 100 ride (Hamilton Area Bike Tour), Hamilton, TX - 10K, 20 mile, 30 mile, 46 miles, 61 miles, 79 mile routes. Come enjoy the rolling hills and pleasant back roads of Hamilton County, pick up some great schwag, and get those legs in shape for your summer cycling! There are routes for everyone from the youngest to oldest, slowest to fastest with 10K, 20 Mile, 30 mile, 46 mile, 61 mile and 79 mile routes. The 61 mile and 79 mile routes range from fairly flat to challenging rollers. There is a special children's 10K ride. Routes have been chosen for their beauty, road surfaces, and lack of traffic, as well as to provide a pleasant and enjoyable ride. Helmets are required. NO GOODY BAGS MAILED. NO REFUNDS. RIDE WILL BE HELD, RAIN OR SHINE.- Event Location North of the Hamilton Airport, located just off HWY 281 about 2.5 miles south of the Hamilton square and about .3 (three tenths) of a mile west of the intersection of US HWY 281 and FM 3302 (GPS coordinates N31 40.425 W98 08.674).
