August 19. 2006 - Vernon burnin, Vernon, TX The ride features your typical 12 mile, 22 mile, 38 mile, and 62 mile routes with rest stops approximately every 10 miles. Awards are presented to the 1st place finishers in the above routes. It's a great ride combining flat, rural, unpredictable winds with some hills, and of course the heat. Many "novice" have used the Vernon event as a warm up for hotter n' hell.
Vernon, Texas is located approximately 45 miles West of Wichita Falls off Highway 287. Start and finish is at Vernon College off Highway 70.
