September 10, 2016 - La Vernia Wild West Hammerfest Bicycle Ride, La Vernia, TX - Routes of 40, 60 and 72 miles. Ride through the beautiful countryside of La Vernia at the 9th annual La Vernia Wild West Hammerfest Bicycle Ride starting at the La Vernia City Park. See the Maps page for directions to the Park. The Texas Farm Bureau Cottonpatch Bike Rally will be on Sat Sept 17, 2016 in downtown Greenville, Texas starting and ending on the courthouse square (2500 Lee Street). Registration will start at 6 AM on the patio by Landon's Winery on the NE corner of the square. The rally will start at 8 AM and end at 2 PM with rides of 21-31-41-54-63 miles. September 17th, 2016 - Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo, Rough Riders Ballpark-7300 Roughriders Trail, Frisco, TX 75034 - The Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo is a premier, multi-course cycling event designed for the professional to the weekend rider. This charity fundraiser includes a timed race with a $10,000 purse for the 100-mile course, the only one of its kind in Texas. There is also a 100K, 48-mile, 22-mile and 2.2-mile children's course. Come out to The Texas Time Trials "The Woodstock of Cycling" September 22-24, 216The Texas Time Trials is an annual series of 5 bicycle races which attracts the top endurance cyclists from all over the world as well as many racers doing their first Ultra Race. The Texas Time Trials is 5 events in one: The Tejas 500 (500 miles in 48 hours; a Race Across America qualifier), The Iron-Butt 24-Hour Time Trial, The Tin Butt 12-Hour, The Texas 6-Hour Shoot-Out and The Texas 26.5 mile sprint. … all hosted on our challenging and scenic 26.5 mile looped course in the heart of North Texas! By Saturday afternoon, riders will be passing the start-finish at an average rate of a rider per minute, some flying at 20+ mph, and others peddling the last laps of their 500 miles. This makes it an extremely spectator-friendly event. Near the start/finish racers & crew can choose to stay in hotels, camp at the park, eat fast-food, or enjoy fine dining in Glen Rose, Texas. Couple that with primarily low-traffic roads, beautiful rolling hills & gorgeous scenery has racers returning year after year. Crew is optional and only at the start/finish (no crew vehicles allowed on the course). Registration is open for upright, recumbent or tandem bikes with a combination of any for team entries.
