July 19, 2008 Quartz Mountain Diamondback 100 (DBK100) - Altus, OK - Bring the family and enjoy the beautiful Quartz Mountain area for the day or the weekend. - The ride will start and finish at the Altus City Reservoir. There will be a 100 mile, 62 mile and 40 mile ride. There will also be a 10 mile family ride around the Altus reservoir. - The ride will start at 8 A.M. and transit the communities of Altus, Martha, Mangum, Granite, Lake Altus, Blair and Friendship. There will be fully stocked rest stops approximately every 10 miles. - This ride would be a great warm-up for the Hotter 'N Hell 100!! All profits will benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates for children (CASA) program. Web Page - no reviews

July 26, 2008 - 21th Annual Goatneck Bike Ride, Cleburne, TX - Routes of 10, 27, 41 and 69.5 miles - 1st ride starts at 7:30 am - web Site - Reviews - Photos from 2007 - Last year they almost reached 3,000 riders. this year they expect to exceed that number. You should be one of them. Also watch for me halfway up that big hill taking pictures. (What again?) No I don't like pain, as suggested, but the hill slows the rider down, spreads them out and the sun is at the right angle.
